“We are very pleased that Inbound Logistics has honored us as a Green Supply Chain Partner for the ninth consecutive year. We continue to be committed to providing our customers with innovative solutions and superior execution to help them meet their business and sustainability goals,” said Ryder President of Global Fleet Management Solutions, Dennis Cooke. “Awards like this illustrate the importance we continually place on providing our customers with the most flexibility, choice, and control in fleet management.”

Ryder was recognized by Inbound Logistics for its leadership in offering advanced vehicle technologies. The Company demonstrated a proven ability to provide customers with the most flexibility, choice, and control in fleet management, as well as innovative solutions to promote sustainability. Ryder accomplishes this by helping companies improve fuel economy and reduce vehicle emissions by deploying into their commercial fleets thousands of natural gas vehicles (NGVs) and diesel tractors that include the latest technologies that meet the EPA's 2017 greenhouse gas emissions standard.

Inbound Logistics has also recognized Ryder for its recent partnerships that align with the Company’s strategic priority to provide customers with innovative solutions to help them reach their sustainability goals. In December 2016, Ryder partnered with Nikola Motor Company to become the sole maintenance and distribution provider in North America for the Nikola hydrogen fuel cell semi-truck. Additionally, in 2017 Ryder announced it was named the strategic service partner for Workhorse Group Inc. supporting Workhorse’s range-extended electric light and medium duty vehicle fleet in North America.

Ryder is also the leader in NGV solutions for the commercial transportation industry, with more than 150 million miles of experience, eliminating more than 52,904 MTCO2e of greenhouse gas emissions and displacing approximately 23.1 million gallons of diesel fuel with lower emission domestically produced natural gas. The Company has 21 NGV maintenance facilities and more than 6,200 NGV-trained maintenance technicians and support personnel. Ryder also operates Liquefied to Compressed Natural Gas (LCNG) fuel stations at its Fontana and Orange, Calif., service locations where the Company has partnered with Clean Energy Fuels to offer renewable natural gas.

“Transportation and supply chain sustainability have always been top of mind for Inbound Logistics readers,” said Inbound Logistics Editor, Felecia Stratton. “In a special ‘Lean and Green’ issue of Inbound Logistics, we are profiling Ryder as one of the 75 leading companies that our readers can turn to when seeking green supply chain management and logistics partners. Inbound Logistics’ editors have determined the 2017 honorees are truly ‘walking the walk’ when it comes to commitment to transportation and supply chain sustainability. Inbound Logistics is proud to honor Ryder among this important group of industry-changing leaders.”
