“Each year, it is our honor to recognize a number of outstanding automotive professionals through the ASE Technician of the Year Awards,” said Tim Zilke, ASE President & CEO. “Joe joins the ranks of the ‘best of the best’ and we are grateful for the opportunity afforded us by the award sponsors to spotlight those individuals whose dedication and commitment to excellence represents the finest our industry has to offer.”

Mr. DeLap, who is a shift tech-in-charge, has been a technician for more than three decades and has been with Ryder for 18 years. The annual awards spotlight top scorers on the ASE Certification tests. Thirty-five different companies from both OEM and Aftermarket segments sponsored the individual technician recognition awards for a total of 40 recipients in the Auto, Truck, Collision and Parts categories, along with three instructor awards. In addition to looking for top scores on ASE tests, awards sponsors examine on-the-job excellence, community service and other factors when selecting honorees.

“Ryder’s team of more than 4,000 professional technicians is a key component of our ability to help provide customers with safe and reliable transportation solutions,” said Ryder President of Global Fleet Management Solutions Robert Sanchez. “We are grateful for technicians like Joe whose dedication to quality and service excellence continues to make a difference for our customers. We congratulate him for this outstanding honor.”
