Ryder On-Site Maintenance Solution Improves Safety, Responsiveness,
and Reliability for Premier North American Truckload Carrier
MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R), a leader in commercial
transportation and supply chain management solutions, today
announced that it has been selected by Freight Exchange of North America
(F/X), a premier full truckload carrier, to provide on-site maintenance
and trailer leasing. The Ryder On-Site Fleet Maintenance solution brings
Ryder’s state-of-the-art maintenance technology and expertise right to a
customer’s location. Ryder On-Site gives customers all of the advantages
of Ryder’s professionally managed vehicle maintenance with the ease,
convenience and reliability of on-site service. As part of the On-Site
solution, F/X has agreed to lease 310 new trailers from Ryder.
The On-Site maintenance facility, staffed with professional technicians
trained and managed by Ryder, is located at F/X’s El Paso, Texas freight
terminal. It is equipped with the latest diagnostic technology and
computerized maintenance scheduling and recordkeeping systems. The
two-bay, open air facility will provide maintenance services for
approximately 550 trailers, including the 310 newly leased trailers from
Ryder. With a maintenance facility and staff on-site, Ryder is able to
help F/X improve fleet performance and uptime, increase reliability and
efficiency, and ensure safety and environmental compliance.
“Providing superior trucking service is F/X’s core competency, not
maintenance,” said
Todd Bennett
, President, F/X. “Our customers rely on
us to be responsive and flexible to their needs, and to deliver their
products reliably – every load, every time. With Ryder’s leading
maintenance expertise supporting our fleet, we can confidently deliver
on our promises to customers and maintain our reputation for reliability
and service.”
The 310 new trailers, leased from Ryder, will be used to support F/X’s
delivery operations across the U.S.
“We were looking to upgrade our fleet of trailers to support growth in
our business,” continued Bennett. “Ryder had the best package – from
pricing, to availability and maintenance. With a full service lease
solution and now maintenance on-site, we can better manage costs, reduce
risk, and focus our energy and resources on taking care of our
customers.”
Ryder On-Site is ideal for companies of all sizes and industries that
need to maintain their fleets in the best possible condition, and need
quick turnaround whenever service is required. Ryder currently operates
more than 225 On-Site Fleet Maintenance facilities in the United States,
Puerto Rico and Canada, as part of our total service network of 800
facilities.
“F/X operates in a demanding industry and understands that having
effective maintenance and a reliable fleet is critical to staying
