, Ryder’s Vice President of Marketing for Fleet
Management Solutions (FMS), will be a featured speaker at Miami-Dade
College’s “Be BOLD! Women in Transportation” luncheon, which will take
place Thursday, February 14, 2013, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the
Wolfson Campus Chapman Center. The luncheon will feature a panel
discussion with prominent women leaders from the transportation,
logistics, and supply chain management industries, as a way of promoting
opportunities for female and minority students in South Florida’s
expanding transportation and logistics industries. With a welcome
address from MDC President Dr.
Eduardo Padron
, the event will also serve
to mark the official announcement of MDC’s new associate’s degree in
transportation logistics and bachelor’s degree in supply chain
management.
“The transportation and logistics industries are rapidly growing fields
where women as well as men can find many opportunities,” said Ms.
Putnam. “These are rich industries where new challenges and technologies
are constantly emerging, providing the opportunity for growth and
leadership. We welcome local degree programs such as the programs
offered by MDC that will help further these fields and increase the
caliber of professionals being trained for tomorrow,” she said.
As vice president of marketing for Ryder’s largest business segment,
Fleet Management Solutions (FMS), Ms. Putnam leads marketing initiatives
focused on expanding business use of fleet services such as full service
leasing and rental of commercial vehicles, maintenance services, and
alternative fuel vehicles. Her responsibilities include designing an
effective and customer-centric message that enhances engagement with
customers and prospects. Ms. Putnam’s experience includes 25 years of
leadership in sales and marketing for some of the largest companies in
the logistics and supply chain industries.
