MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Ryder Mexico, a leader in commercial transportation and supply chain
management solutions, presented its 2013 Service Excellence Awards to
top-performing carriers at its fourth annual Mexican Carrier Celebration
and Recognition Event on January 23, 2014, at the Sheraton Santa Fe
Hotel in Mexico City. Twenty Mexican trucking companies were honored for
their results in a variety of key performance areas, such as safety and
security, on-time performance, customer service, and continuous
improvement, among others.

“As a logistics provider, we make a promise to our customers that their
shipments will arrive at their expected destinations at the right time
and in the right condition,” said Eugenio Sevilla-Sacasa, Vice President
of International Supply Chain Solutions for Ryder
System, Inc. “The carriers we work with handle some of the most
challenging aspects of executing on our promise – which include meeting
tight delivery windows while operating safely on the road. As anyone in
the transportation industry knows, the process is never as easy or
straightforward as it sounds and this is why the carriers we work with
are such an important part of our success and our customers’ success.”
Carrier companies were evaluated according to four major criteria:
operational excellence, overall capabilities, billings with Ryder, and
participation in Ryder accounts. Twenty winners were chosen from a pool
of 103 Mexican carrier companies and evaluated for the 2013 period. The
following were the 2013 Ryder Service Excellence Awards winners:

“We also know it’s important to recognize the sophistication and
high-quality customer service of the trucking industry in Mexico, where
the logistics and carrier industries have evolved over the years adding
advancing technologies to overcome new challenges,” said Eugenio
Sevilla-Sacasa. “Mexico has world-class carrier companies that make it
possible to provide seamless service to our customers, many of whom also
have operations in the United States and Canada. We carry out an annual
evaluation to measure our carriers’ performance and help provide
targeted feedback that can be used as a basis for continuous
improvement.”
