The 17,500-square-foot service facility is now open for business,
providing commercial vehicle maintenance for Ryder’s growing full
service lease, rental, and on-demand maintenance customers. The facility
also features a full service rental counter for businesses that need
heavy duty vehicles on a short-term basis. The expanded facility will
replace the 116 Glencoe Drive, Mount Pearl location, from which Ryder
served the local market for nearly 20 years.
The Paradise facility is conveniently located near the 1 and 2
TransCanada Highways and only a few minutes from the former Mount Pearl
facility. It will feature state-of–the-art maintenance equipment with 11
commercial service bays, one wash bay, two 65-foot trailer bays, as well
as many brand new amenities, including a customer reception area and
driver lounge. The facility is situated on 1.8 acres of land, allowing
for ample parking space for Ryder’s lease, maintenance, and rental
customers. The new facility features a modern in-floor heating system,
allowing not only for employee comfort when the doors open and close in
the winter, but also for better energy efficiency.
“Ryder continues to see growth and expansion in Newfoundland as
businesses look to outsource fleet management and maintenance,” said
Jerry Brown, Fleet Management Solutions Vice President & General
Manager, Ryder Canada. “As the Newfoundland market grows, we’ll grow
with it. With our new facility, we can provide customers in Newfoundland
with more diverse, advanced maintenance services, an expanded staff of
expert technicians, and the latest maintenance technologies in a larger,
more modern space.”
The new facility features an easy-in-and-out design to make maintenance
of large vehicles more convenient. As the only large truck maintenance
and rental company on the island, Ryder will offer several new services
to accommodate growing demand for fleet management services.
“We look forward to providing customers with reliable, ever-better
maintenance services in the local market,” said Mr. Brown. “With the new
Paradise facility, Ryder is equipped to deliver an unrivaled customer
experience.”
A grand opening event will be held from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm on Wednesday,
May 27, 2015, with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 3:00 p.m. Refreshments
and entertainment will be provided.
The facility will be open Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. – 10:00
p.m., Friday 6:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., and alternate Saturdays 6:30 a.m. – 3
p.m.
